I barely had any prenantal care during my pregnancy due to insurance issues. I only went 3 times. The first i went i was 25 weeks along. Honestly, when i get pregnant again i will be seeing my ob every visit until birth. I delivered at 41 weeks 1 day.

I'd try harder. I wouldn't risk it, what happens if you end up being high risk and you don't know and continue to be active? Too big of a risk to get NO prenatal care, IMO.

I don't even see how its possible. Like, they can't just say "Oh sorry, we can't deliver any more babies in April." WTF? lol

Get a list of providers from your insurance and start calling. I'm not saying you need to go to every appointment, but I would at least go to the initial appointment and the anatomy scan.

Either had I...both times the convo went like this.
."I would like to book a pregnancy appointment"
"ok date of last period please"
"Ju;y 25th"
"Sorry, mam but all of our physicians are booked for April birthdays"
"Is there any other doctors you can refer me to?"
"You can try (other hospitals name) to see if they have any openings, good luck!"

They really cannot deny you. I'd call back and tell them they need to take you or you wont have any prenatal care.

Are you calling hospitals or clinics?

I guess it different depending on where you live. I didnt see a doctor til 16 weeks with this pregnancy , waiting 90 days for insurance sucked.

well, each hospital has a designated ob/gyn office that books the appointments for all Drs that deliver for each hospital so I called each one. Each one had more 10+ doctors and apparently none of them had openings. And I did call back and say that I hadn't received any prenatal care and that the previous had already turned me away, they said I could try the county health dept. I'm not against it...but I would like to have my own doctor.

You need to call the actual clinics to schedule your prenatal care, not the hospitals. Call yoru insurance company and ask them to email you a list of providers in your network and call every one of them.

Please be careful, My friend had Child Protective Services arrive at the hospital, to take her daughter into custody at birth. She did not know that she was pregnant, and had received no prenatal care. They wanted to arrest her out of the ER dept for child endangerment.
