Quoting *Mary Moon*:" <blockquote><b>Quoting Chunky Dunk:</b>" I have put on quite a bit of weight the past ... [snip!] ... 30 lbs in a little over a month is awfully fast isn't it? I though you were supposed to lose 1-2 lbs a week? Could be wrong."
It depends on your starting weight. People who are obese (300+) can lose way more than 30lbs a month whereas someone who is 150 may only expect to lose 6-8 a month.
OP, I was at 180 when I started dieting a while back. I cut out all soda and junk food. I limited myself to 1200 calories a day and when you realized you only have so many calories you tend to eat low calorie healthy foods to keep yourself full. I used myfitness pal, its an app if you have an android or iphone. It's great, whatever you want to eat you just scan the barcode with your camera and it pulls up all the nutritional info and tells you how many more calories you can eat that day. I lost about 27lbs in a month.
