Desperatly need to lose weight

posted 29th Nov
I have put on quite a bit of weight the past year. I am weighing at about 215lbs now. I am desperately wanting and needing to lose a lot of weight and I want to start by trying to lose at least 30lbs by January 1st... any advice on how I can make that happen?

30 lbs in a little over a month is awfully fast isn't it? I though you were supposed to lose 1-2 lbs a week? Could be wrong.

30 pounds is way too much! you should set realistic goals so you dont get disappointed and give up! use my fitness pAl to track your food. you have to cut calories and have exercise too. you wont see hardly any change without doing both!

It depends on your starting weight. People who are obese (300+) can lose way more than 30lbs a month whereas someone who is 150 may only expect to lose 6-8 a month.

OP, I was at 180 when I started dieting a while back. I cut out all soda and junk food. I limited myself to 1200 calories a day and when you realized you only have so many calories you tend to eat low calorie healthy foods to keep yourself full. I used myfitness pal, its an app if you have an android or iphone. It's great, whatever you want to eat you just scan the barcode with your camera and it pulls up all the nutritional info and tells you how many more calories you can eat that day. I lost about 27lbs in a month.

Oh I also used those wraps by it works. I don't sell them anymore but can give you my friends info and show my before/after pics if you want. The results I got from those were what made me kicks tart into diet mode and stay motivated. Here is my friends link: https://itworkswithleslie.myitworks.com/Home

I started eating smaller portions a couple nights ago.. but i really dont feel that it will do anything for me. I know I need to be more strict.

Understood. I got a huge pep talk from my gyno about my weight and how I need to see a doctor to get into a nutritionalist. I weigh 222 and am only 5' tall so its adding up quick. I feel your pain. I know where to start but have no will power. What's keeping you from losing weight, do you know? Any bad habits? over eating, too much sweets, recently quit smoking? Lack of exercise? I'm all of the above...except soda. I don't like any liquid.

Quick and Fast never works. I have done several different things over the course of the last four years. Weight watchers was AMAZING! Loved it, easy to follow., and honestly its a lifestyle change. Also did AdvoCare with great results as well. I have tried "it works" and it didnt do ANYTHING. I have also done Nutrisystem with decent results. They were okay but the food sucked. I kept weight off on Weight Watchers till I had my son (about 2 years). Then took the weight off again with Advocare and kept it off until I just recently got pregnant (about two years)

I only cut calories and the only exercise I did was chasing around my 2 year old which can be pretty strenuous. You can lose a limited amount by only cutting calories but once you hit that plateau you have to start working your butt off.

I just eat fatty foods and way to much of it.. and I am a bit of a soda junky.
I know food is probably the source of my problem.
