This and so unreal.

I just think the whole idea of trying to get your kids to behave for a little elf (or even santa) to be sure they get christmas presents, kind of appalling. I'd rather them learn to behave for ME all year around, rather then one month for some fictional creature.
It just.....bugs me....
But we also don't really do Santa, so that probably has something to do with it *shrug*

Of course they have to be good all year round but kids will be kids. When it gets closer and they are getting an idea on what they want is no harm to tell them that is up to Santa and his elves if they have been naughty or nice. I do agree about the elf staring at them to be creepy and apalling like you said.
