He won't put on lotion.

DS is high functioning autistic, he gets really itchy and refuses to put on lotion. His skin is dry and I know lotion would help. The more it itches the more irritated he get's. What's something I could do that's not lotion?

Coconut oil? I use it on myself and my daughter and it smells heavenly!

Yes, yes, yes coconut oil. That stuff is heavenly on the skin. I used it one time in my hair and my hands were soft for like a week just from rubbing it into my hair. Need to go buy some more of that..

I hate lotion and I had dry skin for awhile. I used benadryl and it helped. I don't know if your son will take it or not. Good luck

He refuses to take baths too, he only takes showers.

I thought about that after posting. You could always add some on a sponge and lather him in it after washing him down

I think that may work, if he'll let me.

Is he a deep sleeper? I have to put lotion on DD when she is asleep, most of the time.

He is, but I don't know if he would wake up from me touching him....I'll have to give this a shot.

What about a spray? They sell California Baby products at Target (not sure where else) but maybe this might work?
