Tears (happy ones)

It's been a long, hard road trying to get our soon-to-be-five-year-old fully potty trained, but it didn't really hit me until today when I did this



that we're actually getting somewhere! And I could seriously cry! Best Christmas present, ever! It's been almost two weeks with no accidents and it doesn't seem to be an issue at all anymore.

His progress in therapy (ABA for autism) has been awesome. Last night, for the first time in months, he got a bloody nose. Instead of having a huge meltdown for an hour, he cried somewhat but the amazing thing was that he could fully explain what he was feeling. The entire interaction was kind of an eye opener. It was a good gauge to see how far he's coming.

We're still working on trying to get him to sleep in his own bed for the whole night but I also don't want to overload him too much at once so we'll just take that one slowly for now.

Also, he has two loose teeth which is like, whaaaat???   but also awesome. He's just not my baby anymore!

My SO's dad says he has only cried 2 times in his life. The first was when my SO finally used the potty for the first time, and the other was when his dad died.
