Everytime we go to my grandparents I have to chase her around like a nazi..you'd think they'd baby proof a little but nope! She's broken 3 glass giraffes lol.

My mum has one at her house, but DD is used to having free reign at home so she does not like the restrictions

We've actually never baby proofed our home.   I figured they'd have to learn eventually. It is obviously kid friendly, but I juts didn't hide every single "no-touch" item. So, at someone else's house...it's business as usual. Letting them know their limits, redirecting, etc.

We just stayed in a hotel for 2 weeks and bought the plug hole protectors and some door fasteners. When we go to people's houses we just pay attention. If there's something DS can touch and break, we move it. If there's something he tries to climb on, we take him off it and tell him no. You can't wrap her in cotton wool forever. Sooner or later you have to venture out into the world

I got made fun of over the holidays for following my son around like a hawk. We visited my husband's family and they have money and really nice, BREAKABLE things laying around every where and I didn't want him to break anything and cut himself PLUS they have a laberdoodle. That dog's back is taller than my son and our dogs love him and understand him. He likes to have the cat smack him (he's declawed and my son thinks it's funny when he smacks him in the face) and he likes the dogs to stand up and put their feet on him, so he's constantly grabbing their feet trying to get them to do these things and our animals know what it means, but that dog was very leery of him and jumpy around him and I was TERRIFIED it was going to bite him or attack him so I followed right behind him every where he went and people kept telling me to stop and everything was fine and I was like no, everything is not fine. That dog is 4 feet tall on all fours and if he decides to attack my kid and he hurts or kills him is it gonna be okay then?

So to answer your question I mostly don't take him to visit people and if I do I just follow him around and don't really visit :/

Ive tried redirecting her and distracting her, it does not work, which is why I was like screw it, just baby proof everything. Is she too young to learn what she can and cant get into?

Oh wow I would be worried too! My old cat is at my mums, and he hates babies, but DD loves cats, so I have to watch them to make sure they are ok

I found that age (to a little over a year) very difficult with my second. My first was much easier to control but my second did/does not listen well. So I'd have to follow him around taking everything away from him. Even in friend's houses that I would have expected they'd be at least a little baby proofed (they had young children). It was exhausting. I preferred to invite people over to my house and that worked well  .

My cat is just scared of babies and children. He's never wanted anything to do with him and usually when Reise approaches him he runs away and hides but if he stays he'll grab his paws and shake them a little trying to tell him to smack him and my cat will get annoyed and smack him, then he laughs. Sigh. lol. We have a beagle and a rottie/red heeler puppy and I feel fine with them because they're with him every day and they've always been good with him but almost a year ago I read an article my local news channel posted about a mastiff that killed a one year old by picking him up by the head and shaking him to death and ever since then I have been absolutely horrified of big dogs being around him. I can't shake it. So by the time we left there (like 8 hours worth of visit, ugh) I was shaking and exhausted from being scared all day
