It sounds like he was sleep walking and really doesn't sound that strange. My ex had issues with sleep walking, more so when he was a child. His older brother was showing me videos of the family and came across a clip of him taping my ex, who was maybe 5 or 6 at the time, peeing into one of those pop up VCRs. In the video my ex walked down the stairs, completely ignored his brothers who were video taping each other, popped the VCR open and began to pee. I was told numerous other stories were he would get up in the middle of the night to pee on things, or just do weird things. He'd often just walk into his oldest brother's room, when we were together, and walk into his closet to turn on the light, then come back to bed.

If this were happening to my husband I don't think I'd leave, perhaps I'd stay with family if he was picking on our son a great deal. But, I'd continue to stick by him and make sure he continued with professional help.
