Also, I think it asks if you are providing 50% OR more of your child's expenses, so you can both choose yes because he could be providing half and you providing the other half. My issue was I was unwed, not a parent and only 17. That was the worst experience of my life and still bites me in the ass left and right.

Yeah we haven't got married because we want to finish school first. We'd probably lose financial aid if we got married. Then we wouldn't Be able to go to school. That'd be dumb.

Luckily the guy I got to marry me was unemployed so it didn't affect my income haha. My actual real husband I'm married to now (lol) and I waited to get married until I had filled out the fafsa for the last time so I wouldn't lose my aid, because I would have.

you can just go down to your financial aid office and file as a "special circumstance".

Since the qsts are coming up as you are dependent but your parents refuse to help pay for anything.

I dont blame you for the first one. I was in abind like that when I started college. My parents made too much for me to get any help but they weren't helping me. So I was stuck paying for it all on my own. It sucks beig a dependent when you're not one really. Same thing happened to my SO.
