big babies

posted 29th Nov
I went to my doctors appointment and he was looking over my notes and noticed that DS was 9lbs 6oz at birth.
He told me when I go into my 20 week ultrasound to book an ultrasound for 36 weeks and gave me a referral to get a growth scan.
He said if the baby is measuring big they will talk about inducing early and making sure i dont go past my due date.

My question I suppose is, was your second baby bigger?
I dont really want to have to be induced as much as it would be nice to know a precise date to when my baby will be coming.

He felt my stomach and seemed shocked -_- and said this one will probably be bigger, I dunno wether to believe him because I havent even got a belly yet.

i wonder if all doctors do this? my son was 9.6 too and we ended up with csection due to me being induced and him not moving down. my doctor said id be a vbac candidate so i wonder if size will change that?

My first child was born by induction due to tachycardia and I was downright miserable. He was 8lbs. My 2nd son was born by induction at 37 weeks due to the tachycardia and because he was already showing to be large and I had group b strep and a history of a fast labor (2 hours with my first). He was 8lbs 3oz. With this, my 3rd son, I have gestational diabetes and tachycardia again. I'm guessing they will induce early again but I was looking forward to a natural labor this time.

A very close friend of mine Third child was over due by almost two weeks and almost 12 lbs at birth . She had him naturally no drugs. Just because I baby is big doesn't mean they wont fit. He oldest was 7 lbs something . Her second was almost 9 lbs and her 4th was 8 lbs. You just never know. One good thing in your favor you have already had one baby and if it was a vaginal birth that baby already paved the way .

My first was born at 39 weeks, 8lbs 5oz.

I had a growth scan at 33 weeks with my new baby, she was 7lbs 15oz, I had another growth scan on wednesday, she's measuring 10lbs 8oz.....but they are NOT taking her any sooner, I have my c-section on the 10th, so in another 10 days, we'll see how big she really is lol.

I wouldn't do anything sooner than 39 weeks if I were you, I've heard they can be off by 2lbs either side.
