re: big babies

I think doctors try to scare you into unnecessary procedures...Personally I would not let them induce me because of a "big baby".

My first was 9 lbs 8 oz...still waiting on this one.

I have heard horrid stories about being induced and Id really hope not to have to do it.
My first was a vaginal birth so Im not too fussed pushing out big babies just not when their head is the wrong way round cos i had to push or 2 hours lol. I think with csections they generally wont take them out early even if they are big.
My SIL had a baby 4 weeks ago and knew from the start she had to have a csection and he was measuring '45 weeks' and they still didnt bring him our early. He was just under 8 lbs so I know those scans are never correct.

With my son i didnt get a scan to guess his weight, the doctor could just tell by my uterus and how he felt i guess! she was right, 9 pounds 6 oz! im hoping the next one will be a tad smaller

If you have a repeat c-section, they either take them 1-2 weeks early, they took my niece at 38 weeks, same as my friends daughter...just depends.

at 24 weeks he was measuring 4.5lbs and said they think hes gonna weigh 9lbs at 39 wks (birth) he was 9lbs 11ozs !!

First DD was 9lbs7oz.
Still waiting on DD2, from what they can feel from examinations, she's a "solid" baby. I'm pretty scared she's gonna be like DD1..

2nd was 7lbs9oz 39w6d
