Point and shoot cameras

What is a nice point and shoot camera? My budget is $100-$150. I have a DSLR but I am selling it because I never use it and hardly ever get pictures of my daughter anymore   When I had a point and shoot I was always taking pictures! I did have a Kodak point and shoot that I loved, but I am open to all brands! I just want something that takes good quality pics and if it takes video that is a plus!   TIA

I have a Canon Powershot ELPH 100HS. It was $110 at Wal-Mart. Has a rechargeable battery and 12x zoom. Indoor, outdoor, and macro settings. I love it. I would suggest anything by Canon. I've had three cameras by Canon and loved all of them.

I was really leaning towards a canon. The dslr is the only canon I have ever had but I loved it. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have a Canon Powershot SX40


It is a great point and shoot but still takes HD pics & videos, and has great DSLR capabilities without the bulk of a DSLR. http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/digital_cameras/powershot_sx40_hs

It's a bit more than you wanted to spend but is a great camera.
