Spinal block?

So I have to have a c-section in March. I'm wondering, do they give you an epidural like you would get normally or do they give you a "spinal block" and what is the difference??

An epi stays in your back like an iv. A spinal is a single shot

with my csection i got a spinal. the difference is the spinal is a one time thing to where the epi is for continuously pumping in the medicine

So it's just like a shot of numbing medication???

yea i couldnt feel anything besides my head and arms

I also had a spinal tap before my C-section and couldn't feel anything from my boobs down... It was easier than getting the epidural Ihad with my first son.

I had a spinal with my sons c section and it hurt alot (they had to stick me 6 times to get it in) Im due now in March and am terrified of the spinal. Im hoping I just had a crappy anesthesiologist that did a crappy job putting it in and this time it will be alot easier...
