Is this Christmas gift selfish?

Dh and I are a little tight on money this year (trying to get a house and whatnot) and are not going all out on our parents, grand parents like we've done in the past. That being said, we just got DD's pictures done and they are really good; would it be selfish to give pictures (in nice frames) of DD as presents? I would also include a Yankee Candle (which those get a little pricey you know.)

Not all all! My parents like those presents then actual things.

well for one i do the same, and two christmas shouldnt be about giving anyway especially with the adults. im sure your parents will appreciate anything you give them

I think its a good idea. Its what I'm giving my mom this year

It's not about the price of the gift. It's about giving something special to someone you love, spending a load of money on someone doesn't show how much you love them. That being said, I think the gift is a cute idea. I've done it before for great grandmas.

When we had the extra money we use to get like $50 for every person, but that racks up!!!

I'm taking DD to see Santa and they have a nutcracker that comes with a frame. Well my mom has literally THOUSANDS of nutcrackers so I'm giving that to her for a gift. My dad's going to be apart of that also.
Grandparents are getting a candle & MIL, a bottle of wine. Both with handmade cards.

Personalized gifts are the best!

I did that one year & it was a hit! I chose the frames based on their decor and everyone loved it. My SIL loved the idea so much, she did it the following year.

We always hand out the Christmas/School pictures to everyone at Christmas. Besides im sure theyre all aware of ur financial situation and will understand why youre not going all out.
