Paps every three months!

I found out that i had HPV 3 years ago. I have had to go to the gyno every three months for a pap smear. I have had a coloscopy done. Is there a procedure that i can have done so i dont have to go back every three months? I understand they want to be careful, but things can get expensive going that often.

I can't believe u had to go that much. Is it one that risks cancer? That seems little exteme. Are they abnormal every time?

i have hpv & abnormal paps everytime since i found out i was pregnant now i have them every 6 months but every 3 months seems a little to much.

that seems over board. Is it abnomal each time? I know friends that had this and they had their cervics scraped. than if the pap came back normally they would go back to once a year

I had hpv, not sure what stand...I had my first abnornal pap smear, 3 months later another abnormal, a month later colposcopy, then 3 months until it went away...which it did after about a year. I'd ask if your pap smears are fine or not...or get a second opinion

I had to go every three months when i first tested positive for hpv. I ended up having 3 coposcopys then it switched to six months. I went for my first six month pap & had to have a leap. Ever since the leap I've had normal paps & no more issues. I can go once a year again.

She says that they are not abnormal but they aren't normal either. She said basically its a blanket diagnosis. So i am not sure if it means that it is abnormal in general but normal for me and my body

I should ask if this is an option for me. I have only had the one coposcopy.

With me i had a lot of abnormal cells that the coposcopys werent getting rid of & they showed a high risk when tested. The leep showed i had a very large lesion that was high risk towards the out side of my cervix. Deeper inside it was pre cancerous. Luckily they got the whole lesion & it never came back.

That's fantastic that they were able to catch it before it got to the extreme. I guess the only thing i can do is ask my obgyn and if anything else, i can get a second opinion. Thanks ladies!!
