planned 2nd time c-sec mums

posted 29th Nov
For those of you who have laboured then had to have a c-sec the first time, if you had a c-sec for your 2nd time, did you find it was easier or harder. did it make a difference at all?

MUCH easier, i also asked to be stitched this time not stapled. I feel like that made it easier. I was walking to the cafeteria 18 hours post surgery.

Yea staples were hell. Also dont know if you plan on EBF but it seems to help with the pain oddly enough

I assume this one will be easier because I won't have the trama of an emergency c-section.

Ill just be calm.. then rolled back.

no staples or stiches for me.. Im blessed to have docs that do only steristrips! yay me!

it stupid strong ermm.. "glue" the only thing about them is it sticks in your growing hair.. once it's time to start pulling the strip off.. and it hurts like a bitch. I have the husband use cutical clippers to snip my hair lol

trust me its seriously strong "tape" "glue" our hospital wouldn't be using it other wise.

might have been. I know some doctors are nuts and use a LOT of stuff to hold you together.. I was up walking the second I could feel my legs, primarly cause i wanted that damn catheter out!

the only thing they did was put supporters on my belly ( i have a dunlap, you know.. your belly dun lapped over) and when the nurse was pulling that off it ripped skin off my belly ( i have senstive ass skin.. i have had band aides rip my skin off!) and when i took a shower it felt like fire on that raw belly patch! grrr

my cathater fell out about 2 hours after surgery so they had me walking around OMFG it was awful i just cried and cried and cried :'( my sticky strip thing was taken off like 2 weeks later and it burned like a mother f***er!

It was easier knowing when/time/etc. and it was easier being mobile - and I was more prepared on the pain and everything. I just had my 3rd section in August, and boy that was the worst recovery ever! It haunts me still, almost 4 months later. (Nothing to do with the actual incision.... just pain wise and I had a very bad reaction to the spinal block, which left perminate nerve damage in my lower back)... But yes, easier knowing whats going to happen!

It was much easier, but I was horribly nervous. I was glued with both csections, you should ask if they do that at your hospital. I really recommend it!

It was definitely better in the sense that I felt more control over the situation. Not traumatised by an emergency cesarean etc. I think too though, knowing what to expect really helped.

Easy is not a word I'd use to describe it though. lol.

half of me is sitting here thinking just book a date and prepare myself for the c-sec. My DH works in the mines so he can book the time off and use his annual leave to stay home longer........ The other half of me is like, hell i swore id VBAC after my c-sec experience, i want that labour and seeing my baby for the first time..... im just so scared of it ending like last time again... im scared my fear of a c-sec is going to be the cause of another emergency!
