Q for baby wearers

posted 29th Nov
My little man hates being in the sling 'tummy to tummy' as he cannot watch whats going on around him. He has te same when we hold him tummy to tummy, he always wants to be held facing outwards.
He's only 1 month old, can keep his head up and control it a bit but is still a bit wobbly. Can I already carry him facing the front?
He won't settle down in the sling and tht leaves me with my hands tied, again...

I wouldn't especially if his head is still wobbly..

I wouldn't. Wear him kind of laying like he is nursing and let him look sideways

Your not supposed to face them out until they are older and have good head control. My son is 2 months and has decent head control and I wouldn't risk putting him in facing outward.

He fusses if he doesn't have an unobstructed view, even the hip carry works for 5 mins max and then he starts to cry

1 month is too young. You might *think* they have good head control at that age but they really don't. Their heads are large in comparison to their tiny body and its heavy. He might be steady for a short whole but his neck will get sore and strained.

Any positions I can use? So far we've tried hip carry, and kangaroo and both of them he starts to cry cause he can't see enough....

Ohh I don't know anything about them sorry.
Maybe look in YouTube and see what positions are suitable for young babies?
I had a moby and a front pack

I found ring slings difficult with my newborns, though once they started to prefer to have their legs untucked & had really good head control they all loved it. When my little ones were tiny, they much preffered the baby hawk or the moby. Perhaps you've just got to try out a few different kinds until you find one that clicks with both of you.
