Colic? Need some advice!
posted 29th Nov
My son has been really gassy. He's only 11 days old. He's up most of the night screaming. We told the doctor about it and she said it might be colic. She then told us to get the gas drop. We did and they're not helping. Now he's having trouble pooping. Please help. I usually wake my mom up crying because I can't get him to stop. I can't help him feel better...

My daughter had colic and here's the only thing that worked
Put her in the moby..and walk, constantly. I literally paced around in front of the tv ALL the time. That was the only thing that would make her stop crying. If i stopped walking, she started crying

Soft music and walking back and forth, kindof slowdancing with him..helped us. then we found enfamil nutramigen..and never had issues with a colic cry after the 1st bottle.

I tried to breastfeed, but he wouldn't latch, so I ended up pumping alot. It felt like I had to pump constantly, so he's formula fed now.
And how much are Mobys? He loves his swing most of the time, but it's in the living room. There's no room for it in my room and the couch is very uncomfortable, so I end up getting no sleep most nights.

DS had colic and it was awful. I either had to put him in his carrier and just walk and walk and walk or put him in his bouncer and keep him constantly going up and down.
You could try Gripe Water. It helped with DS.

how long has he been on formula? If you still have milk I would keep trying to latch. My daughter didn't latch well until she was about 11 days old. Breastfed babies are less colicy. My daughter is a sleep fighter and I wear her to calm her down. Swaying and white noise like the shower and dryer help.

My son had Colic for the first few months of his life and I always used gripe water. It worked like a charm for us. Another thing to try is white noise.. like tv static fuzz. You can find some videos on youtube.

Update!
Took Joshua back to the doctor and she told us that we could swaddle him at night and it would help him sleep. Well, I tried swaddling him when he came home from the hospital and he hated it. The doctor did it really tight and he was instantly calm. I guess I wasn't doing it tight enough. Lol. My sister sent me a sleepsack with my first baby and I'm finally giving it a try two years later. lol,

My daughter was the same way when she was an infant. The gripe water is ok but the best thing I found was Colic Calm, it's right in the same area as the gas drops and Gripe Water. I only had to give it to her for about four nights and within minutes she calmed down and slept very good and after each night it got better and then was gone all together and never came back. Its expenive but so worth it. Its a black liquid and it will stain so you have to be careful with it but it's all natural ingredients so it isn't harmful or medication. Good luck!
