Softening Cervix

posted 28th Nov
So, they're inducing me. In two weeks when i am exactly 39 weeks. With Cytotec
Gah, i REALLY did not want to be induced, and i am petrified of it. Smurffy situation, but at least i'll have my baby girl in my arms soon. Looking on the bright side, and praying that it doesn't end in a C-section. Unforunately, my cervix is still closed and high. So i was curious of what i could do to help it along a little? I don't nessacarily want to induce on my own, just help my body prepare since not being ready will up my chances for a c-section even more. Any ideas of some natural things i could do?

ETA: Sorry should have stated it is medically needed because of my diabetes.

why oh why oh why are you planning to be induced at 39 weeks? no one can MAKE you get induced. Why are you even worried about it!?!

Becuse its medically needed. I have diabetes, and it is potentially harmful for LO. I know they cant MAKE me, but its what is needed to keep her safe and healthy.

Evening Primrose Oil. You take some orally, and some you insert into your vagina. Not sure on the specifics though.

You can deny cytotec. Cervadil is the safer one. Cytotec is risky. As a pt you have that right.

I asked about that when she told me, and she said my hospital uses cytotec, not cervadil. Was my first question lol

But you can always have them get a prescription for it. My aunt denied cytotec. Her OB said the same thing. "The hospital uses cytotec" it's bc it's cheaper. My aunt denied it anyways and said well figure something else out. I'm not okay with the risk. So the doctor wrote a prescription and ha my aunt pick it up from the pharmacy, and bring it to the hospital. Then called the hospital and said that it was to be used instead of cytotec. They can't force it on you. They have to figure something else out. Atleast here in California....

So i just need to stick to my guns nd flat out refuse it. Does the prespiction cost ME anything, or will the hospital cover it?

I believe so. Should be able to get it at a walgreens or walmart, etc.
