ovulation confuses the hell out of me.

We just started ttc this month. I used OPKs and got positive on CD 12. Checking my cervix it wasn't even fully open until CD 15. No EWCM. No cervical discharge at all really. Until today. CD 19. It was watery and white. And no, it wasn't leftover babymaking juices because we haven't BD since CD 17. Now I'm hoping I didn't O late. Ugh. I really don't even know when I Od just going to assume CD 15.

TTC is so confusing. Lol.

Anyone have any input?

I was the same way. I ovulated CD 19 also and didn't get the EWCM until that day. It started getting that way the day before. I got my first positive the morning of CD18 and my last positive on CD 20. So I caught mine from the very beginning to the very end. Some women have longer surges than others. It's normal sometimes. Other times it could be a woman may have PCOS which causes the LH to be higher. What brand of opks are you using? I use the Answer brand. I take 3 a day until I reach my positive. I just bought a new box today for when AF leaves. I'll start testing around CD 12 just to be on the safe side. I'd definitely go with the EWCM instead of just the positive. They say to go with the body before a line. So hopefully you caught your egg this month. I feel like I'm out already. When is AF suppposed to come for you? I think mine have changed again. I had mine Nov. 1st which would have put my next tomorrow but since I o'd on CD19 I think it may put it coming on the 3rd or 4th.

I never got the EWCM. I got positive Answer OPK's on the 12th and 14th. (I think the 13th may have been diluted because it was Thanksgiving and I probably drank more than I realized since I tested at 2 pm). My cervix was fully opened by the 15th. The only discharge I got was milky white/watery 4 days later. (By then I had gotten 4 days of negative OPK's).

My period is due.... like the 7th or 8th? I have 28-29 day cycles and my LMP was Nov 10th.

OPK's don't tell you the day you O, they tell you when you have an LH surge. Which means O day can happen within 24-72 hours.

Also, are you sure it was a positive? I was sure CD15 I had a positive, but I didn't get my positive til CD17 and started having O cramps within the next day.


I know they say to quit testing once you think you have O'd, but I keep testing to be sure. You shouldn't be having positives for multiple days either.

Assuming you have regular cycles, you should have O'd around the 24th.

Well, I know that its the LH surge, and not that you are Oing already. if it wasn't dark enough on CD 12, then it had to be on CD 14, because starting CD 15 it was clearly negative. Same with CD 16 and 17. All my charts said I would O the 15th. And my cervical position/opening also says it was probably the 15th.

Ovulating is confusing in itself and adding opks and chartting it makes it worse lol. I just use the opks since I keep forgetting to take my temp when I open my eyes in the morning. I thought AF was gonna start by tomorrow with the headaches I'm having but I don't think she will. I usually feel the heaviness in my uterus at this point. My guess is she'll come around the 3rd or 4th considering I O'd on CD19. I dont know how my cycles are since my last was late due to taking metformin and getting off of it. I didn't O at all on it and this month was the first month without it and I O'd by myself. I usually do but I got on the met. to help me lose weight and it caused me not to ovulate. I know its supposed to help ovulation but for me it stopped it. But I'll do this one more month of opks to see if my left ovary is doing it's thing then that's it for me. If I get preggo it'll be because God wants it to be so. No more trying on my part.
