Ellie is really cute. I'd only use it as a nickname though, for Eleanor or something like that. Rae is meh.

Evelyn is beautiful. He should keep in mind that she will be an adult some day, longer than she will be a child. So a mature name isn't a bad thing.

I wanted to name my first Ellie Rose but SO wouldn't go for it. and I LOVE Evelyn too. *sigh* Just was not meant to be. And Rae is my sister's middle name! What coincidences.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Ellie. It's adorable, but I made sure my daughter could have a nickname incase she wanted to switch it up.
