Oh man, I'm fuming

So a week and a half ago I told my husband. "Hey, one of the cars is leaking something, not sure which, you'll need to check." I was told ok. So he never checked like I knew he wouldn't. So 2 days later I found out which car it was and around the area where it was leaking. I told him. He said okay. Nothing. So I meantioned it to FIL and he said they would look at it, but he got busy , which is fine because it's not his vehicle. Husband never looked at it.
I kept telling him and nothing. (I don't harp at him because he says I am trying to be his mom> ) So I say it once and leave it for the day.
Last night on my way to class it was making some funny noises and was harder to turn. I got home and told him he needed to look at it. "Okay" So 2 hours later (it was getting late so I reminded him) and made him go look. We were very low on oil and power steering fluid. So he filled up before work ( he is a delivery driver.)
My husband texts me an hour ago saying the car sprung a big power steering fluid leak and his dad took him his car. GREAT! we have no money to fix a big leak and it could have been taken care of when it was a smaller/cheaper leak! He always does this! He never puts this stuff as a priority and I am left making arrangements because he could not prevent this stuff

Oh my, procrastination is my biggest pet peeve ever, I would be pissed too!

I would have stayed on DHs ass and made him do it the first day....btw you should get him to teach you how to check all the fluid levels to prevent this from happening again.

Oh I am! I even told him and all he said was "yes ma'am"

and I know when I start to let him know how mad I am he will just say "you are right" Well duh! I knew I was, I want to see change not hear I am right!

Ugh. I feel for you..

But I have to admit, I'm a terrible procrastinator!

I used to get on his ass, it still did nothing.
And he knows how to check all that stuff, he just "forgets" nothing is a priority to him. I usually keep up on it, but I don't drive the car as much as I used to - now I remember what to do for the van. Ugh, his dad takes better car of our vehicles than my husband.

You coulda saved yourself the fight and checked it yourself as well... haha

I often fuss at my Hubby about the car but he procrastinates so I just do it myself.

That's why I'm the primary car person in our family. DH doesn't even know how to do a basic oil change. I handle all of it. And he has no interest in learning.

See I would feel better if he atleast was procrastinating, but for him he just "forgets" no sense of urgency with him. Unless it's what he wants to do it gets forgotten.

That sucks...the only thing I can get DH to do for my car is look at it. He hates foreign cars so he makes me take it to my step dad which is fine because hes a mechanic.(when it comes to DHs car he know better than to not stay on top of things because if we have to do one more big fix on it I said its gone and meant it )

Ugh! I often want to shake my husband, because he never does anything with any sense of urgency! He tells me to relax, it's on his "list". Yeah.. at the very bottom, and it'll get done in his own sweet time! haha.

It's his car. I drive it once and a while. I have no clue what to look for so I normaly take stuff in to be looked at but that costs money, which we don't have and FIL would get onto my husband which husband doesn't like.

I would so be the car person. But 1, I have no clue what to look at (I could learn though) 2, he would be like "*Sigh* I can do it *huff and puff *" and 3, I really don't ask much from him, dishes in dishwasher, work, get good grades in class, and pick stuff up. That is not a lot I do everything else- even schedule his apt and help him organize his school work and even help him with his homework.

I wish I could take my husbands car away lol, but he would like that too much.

At least he has a list. This guy hears "blah blah blah, I really don't want to do it" and it goes out his ear.
