Baby Shower with 3rd child????

So here is the situation.

With my first I had 2 baby showers. All the stuff I accumulated from those showers I ended up leaving behind when I moved out of country so I had to start fresh with my 2nd pregnancy. Didn't have a baby shower for my 2nd. Family did buy a crib and dresser for the new baby and lots of clothing. Now for this baby I will have a BUNCH of baby girl clothing if it turns out to be a girl but if it's a boy I will have no baby clothes but stuff that is 3t+.

Is it selfish or whatever to want to have a baby shower to help with diapers and other stuff even though this is my 3rd child especially if it's a boy to help with baby outfits???.....

I dont agree with hosting baby showers to ask for gifts, your baby is your responsibility. But thats JMO.

PERSONALLY, I wouldn't throw my own shower. Especially if I were doing it just for clothes and stuff.

how long ago were the last 2 "showers"?...if it was within the last few years then I'd just suck it up and buy everything or you can just have a diaper party..

IMO throwing your own shower is kind of tacky

I didn't even get a shower with my 2nd   However if you have to start completely over it isn't unreasonable IMO. Or jsut do a diaper shower so that your guests just bring diapers and wipes.

Totally up to you. I think the only reason I would have a baby shower if I were to get pregnant again is if it were a girl

I have 3 boys. and if this baby is a girl- im having a baby shower. Because i have NOTHING.
I had 1 baby shower with my 1st, a small one with my second. (just a get together basically) and none with my 3rd. i have nothing left from my others because we moved across country. but if its another boy, i will just buy things myself.

If I had family and friend close by I wouldn't be. But unfortunately I have no family. So that is why I'm having one. I'm having it to try and bring some people together and get closer.


It isn't about the gifts. It's mostly about the get together to celebrate but if they want to give a gift to help us along it's greatly appreciated. Any kind of help is great..


My last baby shower was 5 years ago but everything from them were left behind.

This is my third child and I'm having another baby shower. My other two are boys and this ones a girl.

when do you find out what you are having?
im due in june and i am finding out in lil over 2 weeks.

That's what I said about my kids. I have so much girl clothing from when she was a baby because she is only 1 so I still have everything from her so that is set if this one is a girl but if its a boy I have nothing because when my son was a baby all of his stuff was back home in another country and we left so I have nothing except stuff that is from when he was 3t+ so nothing baby related for a boy.

Out of curiosity here, why couldn't you buy the stuff if it's a girl? What's the difference? No offense, really. I just never understand why people have babies if they don't want to or expect someone else to buy the stuff for em. And people get upset with that question quite a bit on here.

They said I'm due April 30th and I was suppose to have my gender scan today but when I had it done they said that the baby seems smaller than what they estimated me to be so I have to wait until I have another ultrasound

Im not relying on everyone to buy everything for us. Its a different gender- Im going to have a baby shower.
No one HAS to buy anything. but since it would be my only girl- I know my family allll would want to buy her something.
I usually buy everything myself anyways. but the extra help is awesome.
