Dress size? Confused!

I'm so confused....lol I got a new dress, and it seems that every dress that fits me is a size 4- Yet I wear a size 8/10 in jeans- I'm 5'2, and weigh around 155 or so.....I just don't understand how the sizes can be so different. Why is it that a dress size is smaller than a regular pant size? The dresses I own are from ALL different brands, so it can't be the manufacturer in particular.

Womens and Juniors are very different, could that be it?

For me it was the opposite. Though the last time I bought a dress I was a size 3 in pants and dress was 7/8 . Not sure about now.

thats strange, i'm 5'1 and 115 pounds and wear a size 6 dress.

I have no idea....Maybe that is it? I remember trying on a pair of jeans last year and they were a size 2....Yet my regular jeans are a size 8/10...and dress size is 4....Maybe I've been shopping in the juniors section and I didn't even know it? That would explain it lol

I thought my dress size would be bigger....maybe it's because my waist is smaller? My waist is 25"....I wonder if the waist size has more to do with it? I just don't get it.

could be! you could be really small framed! either way size 4 is awesome

Yeah, typically it does.

For instance, I have an hourglass figure and finding jeans is a bitch...they're always a size or so bigger than my dresses which are smaller. My boobs aren't huge at all but I do have a big ribcage.

I don't even fit most clothes in women's section that I have tried on. Pants don't fit me right, and I usually don't like the tops lol. So I stick with misses or juniors  

That makes absolutely NO sense lol. Unless the dresses you are getting are stretchy dresses.
