Milestones

What are the basics that a child that just turned 3 should know? What should they be doing physically? Also, what are they expected to know by the time they turn 4?

There's a wide range of developmentally appropriate things they should know. I Have over 50 areas I assess children on iny class so I kind of need specific examples because I could go on all day with what's age appropriate.

It really depends on the kid. Mostly you want to start Introducing him to concepts he needs to know for kindergarten to give him a head start for when he's 4. 4 is more when you push stuff a little further. At 3 it's more exposure. 3 is when u start introducing math and literacy skills. Pointing out numbers and letters, counting, etc. then letting them scribble on paper for writing. Introducing them to scissors if you haven't done so yet. Just letting them cut the paper into tiny pieces is fine. Letting them play with playdough to help develop their fine motor skills. Having him start to learn to gallop, hop on one foot. Start recognizing his name and the letters in it. Answering and askin questions. Using longer sentences like 4-6 words or more complete sentences. Understanding more and less, spatial concepts like over and under. It's hard to say exactly. Just making sure he's exposed to things. It's typically 4 years old and kindergarten readiness that it gets more defined.

Makes sense. I just worry because he's getting re-evaluated soon and I don't want to hear bad news again. He used to be in 4 therapies, 3 times per week.

Just work on that stuff and age 4 is a little more clear as to what they should be doing. 3 can be so wide ranged. Some 3 year olds were their name and know all their letters and some don't know anything. It's all normal.

If he needs the therapies it's better to get them now than later cause typically they can catch up before kindergarten when they get them in prek. Good luck mama. I'm sure it's hard but obviously you're gonna do what's best for him
