You have evidently never been on a plane with bad turbulence. Lol

I'm sorry, but this is just absurd. They would not allow lap children if it was THAT dangerous. As I state in the OP I've had a lap child three years in a row, four flights a years, so 12 times, and never have I ever had a problem holding on to my child, even in cases of turbulence.

I've flown multiple times with my 7 month old, the earliest with him being 7 weeks (4 times in the US, two international flights). He only had his own seat once on our way to England when he was 2 months old, and that was only because there happened to be an empty seat next to us on the flight. He rode in a carseat that time, obviously. Every other time, he's been in my lap.
You can ask for a seatbelt for the child. It clips into your seat belt and is a separate belt for the child.

itd have to be some pretty bad turbulance for your child to get hurt in a reg seat with a seat belt from turbulence.

I swear I'm just bad luck. Every flight. I went to AZ last year and it was clear and we still hit turbulence!

Quoting Mrs. Post-tato Head™:" So have you ever flown at all or just not with kids? Have you ever experienced turbulence?"
I wouldn't be answering a question about air plane safety if I hadn't flown in a plane before, lmfao.

Keep reading, I mentioned a time when I experienced really bad turbulence.

Yes I have. I've been flying since I was a young child. I've been on countless airplane flights, over 100 I'd have to say, and yes I've experienced bad turbulence. Nothing that would ever make it difficult for me to hold on to my child...

The lap is absolutely not safer...

Ive done it twice now. No way im going to buy a new carseat everytime i travel and get to my new destination. There is tons of them on there too. They put them in a totally differant part than with the bags, but it does get checked.

It's a huge risk. You have just been fortunate enough to not experience it.

Yes I saw that. I was typing this at the time. And you said, "I never have" so I didn't know if that applied to JUST flying with kids or flying altogether.

I haven't dealt with bad turbulence. The only turbulence I dealt with felt like I was just in a car that had run off the side of the road for a few minutes. Lol. Nothing extreme. I guess I was lucky. But, still.

Still not a risk I would take with my kids life.

Have you SEEN how they treat luggage? They don't treat seats any differently!
