Okay.. That's who I thought did it in the hospital until my OB came to my room and went over the procedure with me. I had no idea she was going to do it.. We hadn't even talked about it until that very moment.

That's odd. At the hospital I worked at the Pedi did it.

If you don't want to do it, why don't you show your husband some facts about circumcisions? That's kind of a major decision to just hand off to your husband, and to not agree about but concede anyway...
To answer your OP, I'm pretty sure you bring your son to a hospital/outpatient center later and a pediatrician will perform the surgery.

Our son was born and then about 48 to 72 hours he was circumcised. I ended up having a c-section so it was probably a little longer than normal. If you insurance wont cover an in office circumcision they do it before you are released. It's also the ped that you pick for the baby that completes the process.

She was asking what about if she has a home birth. She knows they do it before being released from the hospital. She had it done with her first

At our hospital, the pedi has to clear the infant for a circ and then the OB does it. That way, two doctors have cleared the infant.
And all babies in our state delivered have to get Vitamin K. If they don't get it, it usually takes a week for the baby's clotting factors to start working for them. That's why babies in the hospital can get it sooner.
Lasttt, I'm super sorry if you have gender disappointment. We both thought S was a girl before the ultrasound, but now I really couldn't imagine having a girl. If you need to vent, I'm here!
Hugs

That's who I thought would do it as well! Because my son got a physical and I had to discuss a further problem with a Pedi there, I thought that he would be the one doing it.

It's not up for debate now, my first son is already circed, so my second will be as well.
So basically I will most likely discuss this with the Pedi at the two day check up and go into an outpatient center..

Thank you Holly! After I got time to calm down yesterday and think clearly.. I don't think it was so much as gender disappointment, because we weren't finding out the gender, but more so I went a whole month thinking I was having a girl. Yesterday I almost felt like I went through a grieving, like I had actually lost my daughter.. I had to keep reminding myself I still have a healthy baby inside of me! I was completely taken off guard and hadn't even asked the tech to look. She simply asked what the babies name was, then told me I needed to choose a different name because it would suit a boy.
Today I feel much better, still confused because last week we clearly saw a vagina, there were no boys parts in sight then yesterday I got photos proving otherwise. But every time Grey does something so sweet I just think about how nice it will be to have another mamas boy. I do worry now about competition (Zac and his brother are the exact age difference as Grey and baby will be and still compete!), I worry about feeling guilty loving another little boy because Grey and I are so close.. But I try to remind myself everything will be different once peanut is actually in our arms!
