Is this normal??

My LO is 5 weeks old. She is generally good during the day. She mostly sleeps and is awake for no more than 2 hours. But then around 8 at night the crying and screaming begins and last till around 1 or 2 in the morning. Everynight! I heard infants are generally more fussy at night, but to cry and scream for about 6 hours everynight... It's tiring. Sometimes it seems like she's in pain, but it's only at night so I don't know. Any ideas? Was your LO like this? And how long did it last? Also after her 6 hour episode she will sleep till 7am and then wake up, I change her and she drinks 2oz (this ordeal last about 30-45min) and she falls back asleep and sleeps till 11am. So she dosnt excessively wake up at night. And even when she's awake in the day time she's not very fussy.

Sounds like colic. My son (now 14) would cry every night from 5:30pm to 10pm..... Nothing ever help but standing up in the football hold and that would only help for a few minutes at a time. Maybe try some gripe water? I didn't know anything about it back then.... I'm generally not one for cio but remember if you get to stressed it could make it worse. Sometimes walking away for a few minutes can help you.

Sounds like colic, not really anything you can do but try and be patient and comfort them.
