3 year old potty training

We have been working on potty training for about a month now, maybe a little longer. R was doing GREAT with it in the beginning and even went a few days in underwear at home with no accidents. He still wore a diaper when we went out for long trips and at night. He slowly regressed and kept asking for diapers, so I didn't force it.

Now he's all about the underwear again. He's been wearing them for 2 days now and even gets up during his nap to pee. We haven't attempted night time yet. How long does it take before they are fully interested and the diapers go bye-bye for good? I know there will be accidents here and there but I don't know when to trust that he's ready.

He's perfectly capable of pulling down his pants and getting on/off the potty. Should I just throw all the diapers away and be done?

Ugh i just took diapers away even when we went out and would stop what i was doing and took him potty

Yes. Throw them away. It's great that he gets up at nap time to pee!!

I would throw them away depending on how he is at nights.. my son is 4. He can use the bathroom 10 times before bed, have his cup cut off at 6pm and still manages to pee the bed once a night ugh.

Every kid is different. DD was pretty much potty trained in a week & done with diapers completely by 2 weeks into potty training; even to the point of underwear at night & not diapers/pull ups.

I don't think he could last all night without peeing, at least not yet. He might wake up but he's a pretty heavy sleeper. I'm expecting accidents but I feel that he would sleep in a diaper forever if I let him.
