I have three girls.... and this is our first boy... I want a baby shower... since I technically only had a baby shower with my first 8 years ago.... but the family did do stuff for the second and third. I had no baby stuff until I went and bought most of my baby stuff, but I think a baby shower would be so much fun!!

I would let her throw it for you. I mean it's not like you asked her to or anything and it seems like a super nice gester on her behalf. I know that I want a baby shower with this one so we can get some cloths and diapers, and hopefully maybe a crib or money to get one since we never had one with our son. I would let her.

You can have a diaper party.. Everyone buys a pack of diapers instead of gifts.. Men and women typically go to that kind of party

Haha yeah of course.

I think you should have a shower with every kid. Unless they are like a year apart or something & even then a diaper shower would be good.

I say go for it. It's not tacky at all.
Chloe is 18 months and I'm having a shower for this one. MIL & SIL are planning it. They asked me of I wanted one and I said if someone throws it for me, then I obviously can't stop them. So that meant yes to them. I also have nothing for this baby other then a crib, changing table and a cheap dresser that DD doesn't need. If I did happen to keep everything, it would've been pointless anyway since this baby is a boy. I did have some girl clothes packed away that went to the shelter & second hand store. But I got boy stuff with a trade in.
Also, DH isn't DDs dad. So this is his "first" child, "first" grand baby for his mom, dad & step dad, "first" everything. He came into DDs life at 4 weeks old. Well, that's when I let him meet her. So they never really been through a pregnancy, shower, anything babyish.

Anyways, you should have one. I don't think there's anything wrong with it!

You have an 18yrold? I would have NEVER guessed, you look amazing!

As far as the baby shower, I guess I would be ok. I mean if they offer. I know if I have another child I wont have anyone offer to throw me a shower, but then again I made it VERY clear that I dont want one. We still have all of LO's baby stuff.

I had 2 baby showers for my 1st... and the only reason I had one with my second was because it was the 1st baby we had when living in the neighborhood we do and the neighbor ladies surprised me with it ... now that I am soon to have a 3rd will not be having another baby shower... I did have to buy all new stuff (well new to me for the clothes) and only because my 1st destroyed everything for boy clothes from having very bad acid reflux and the other stuff just got wore out from the 1st 2... If someone wanted to throw a shower for me I would just go along with it but other then that I won't do it or expect one...

Have the shower! It's a great chance to celebrate the upcoming arrival!
