Indiana Child Support Question

Ok so I have a 5 year old daughter, a 2 year old son and just found out I am pregnant shortly after my fiance broke up with me. He is the father of this baby and the 2 year old.

He is telling me that if we get joint custody he won't have to pay support. Is this true? I make zero money as of right now and he makes about 35.000 a year.

You will be encouraged to get a job and he will pay a differential type of child support. Probably around 200 a month if that.

I'm not sure about Indiana, but in New York it depends on which parent has the children more, I believe.

They will factor in how much he has the kids. They do a worksheet and everything with you and him. They will take what you make and what he makes and any other kids either of you have. You can go online and figure it out too if you know all the info.

When DH and I were split a couple years ago. I had to fill out a paper saying how much my bills were such as LG&E, Water, Cable and Cell phone then how much the kids used like DH called every night the kids were with me and talked to each for around 15 minutes. With TV they did how often they watch or use the water for baths and went based on his income. I wasn't working but going to school full time and getting a check from school. They also asked who would pay for daycare, sports (our son played) and daughter do gymnastics and factored that in for child support (though we took turns I'd pay for the sign p fee DH paid for equipment used for the sport, I'd paid gymnastics 1 week he did the other same with daycare cost). All in all he paid me $175 weekly but that's also what him and I agreed on privately and the judge signed off saying it was fine with him.
