What happens when?

You go to the doctor for being short of breath? I'm about to the point of passing out after climbing stairs or walking one room to another. What tests will be done? I just had blood work done last week and it was normal. I go to the doctor later today, just curious.

Test for blood problems, and asthma most likely

I was like that when I had walking pneumonia and they put me in the hospital for two nights with round the clock breathing treatments.

Otherwise the first things they will check is your heart and lungs. They'll probably take a chest xray, maybe do an EKG, things like that.

The shortness of breath started 2-3 weeks ago and keeps getting worse. Last night I was fine and literally two seconds later I had a hot flash and was sick to my stomach. I was like that until 1am then slept for 6 hours and was fine, but about an hour ago the same feeling came back only milder. Other than that, I have not been sick at all.

sounds to me like you have asthma, i was like this every day, my inhayler helps alot tbh, i would book an appointment with the asthma nurse to see if you are.

I just had this about 2 weeks ago and was told by my doc's office to go to the ER because I was short of breath and felt like my heart was pounding (like I just finished a marathon) after just walking 20 feet. The only thing that they found was that my potassium was low. I saw my doc 2 days later to follow up and he said that it could be dehydration and that I needed to make my pee look like water and if the symptoms were still there then he would do some further investigation. I have just chalked it up to the fact that my blood supply has increased and because I have low blood pressure to begin with my heart must just be working even harder to push all the blood around my body. I even get out of breath just sitting on the couch.

I would get seen ASAP. Shortness of breath is not something to mess around with, especially if there is no obvious reasoning for it.
