Shes driving me nuts...

posted 28th Nov
My 4 year old goes to school for 4 hours a day from 8 am - 11am . I have to get her there at 7:30 for breakfast, so I wake her up at 6:30-6:45. Sometimes she's pretty good and wakes up happy, but most of the time she screams and cries and refuses to get up.

We have our routine at bedtime, and she is in bed by 8 every night, asleep by 8:30... Do I need to put her to bed earlier? Is she just going to be a difficult kid? What can I do to make this kid behave in the mornings...

IMO she's getting enough sleep, maybe she's just not am morning person. My kids are the same way, they're horrible when they first wake up. Sometimes if i wake them up in a certain way they'll wake up happy but most of the time not. DS is the worst, he's just like DH i literally have to dress him in bed half the time and then pull him out.

We have a sticker chart as incentive 5 stickers equals $1 for the dollar tree. It's very effective for us, and so worth it to me. I have to wake my daughter up at 6:30-645 everyday and no matter how early we put her to bed its hard for her to wake. It's hard for me to wake up that early too haha

That's what I was doing with her at first, lol. Maybe I should start that again because I can't do this fight every morning.

This sounds almost exactly like my morning except my daughter goes til 230. I think some kids are just morning people and some arent. My daughter used to do the same thing, screaming amd crying when it was time to get ready, so id turn the tv on for her and let her watch it for five minutes, then tell her im gonna brush her hair in a few minutes, wait then brush her hair. Wait then say were ginna get dressed in a few minutes. Wait thenn helped her get dressed. Wait then tell her to brush her teeth. Lol.

I might try this too. She loves money, and she's really good with incentives lol.

I hate it, i have to get the kids up 5 days a week because we have to go pick up DH from work at 7 so we're usually up by 6:45. It got to the point where i was having to drag both my 3 and 4 year old out of the house along with my 4 month old. So now i just wrap them up, heat the car up and take them out one at a time, they wake up in the car and they're not as cranky. A lot of time i don't have the extra 15 minutes in the morning to massage them away or wake them up nicely. When they both start school next year i dread it.

when my daughter started school, she was in bed by 7:30 now she's in 2nd grade and her bedtime is 8:30 and we get up at 6:45. When she was in Pre-k she didn't have to be to school until almost 9 so I would wake her at 7:30am
