should I worry?

My husband and I have chosen the name Carmen Olivia for our little one to come. But, every time someone asks me what I plan on naming her, they look at me in a funny way and say the name in question. Should I care what other people think? Or just name MY child what I want.

Name the child what YOU want.

I'm not a huge fan of the name Carmen. Bottom line is it's your choice. If you like, that's all that matters. However, I love Olivia

When I was pregnant with my third Son i dreaded telling People his name esp Older people. I actually would tell older people and strangers his name was going to be Trey instead of telling them his real name just so i wouldnt start up a convo about why and where his name came from. I LOVE his name and of all my sons his is my favorite and fits him so well!!!

It is your choice BUT Carmen & Oliva don't really flow well together and you may end up correcting people for her entire life...

As long as you and DH like it then it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks. They are both REAL names, spelt correctly, so as long as this name is for a girl then there is nothing wrong with your choice - if someone doesn't like it then that is just thier opinion.

BTW I love the name Carmen   It is one of the first Operas I ever saw! She is an interesting Charactor - very wild and wily  

BTW if it is a boy then the masculine version would be Carmelo Oliver.

Triton Alex. Triton.. "Tri" means three, and he is our 3rd son. Also my husband is Alex Jr so he is the 3rd Alex as well. lol. Trey means three too.
