Help!!! I can't decide on a name!

posted 28th Nov
Hello everyone!
I'm due in less than a week, and still cannot, for the life of me, settle on a name for my daughter!!!

These are the first names I'm currently considering..

1. Rowan

2. Norah

3. Farin

I also like Wren and Lenora.

The middle name is really a huge issue too.
I was thinking about using my father and grandfathers middle name Glenn as this baby's middle name....but it was just a though, but now, everyone in the family seems to think it was set in stone and are all soooooo excited that I'll be using the family name.

The thing is, although technically unisex, I think Glenn is masculine.
Also, I know a lot of people hate Rowan for a girls name.

Sooo..if I chose Rowan Glenn....I feel like I'm giving her a guys name! Lol.

Help!!

Also...I would I spell it Rowan (with an "an") OR Rowen (with the "en") ....I like the "an"...but again...everyone else likes the "en"....

Sigh...

My other daughters name is so feminine..Bella Soleil. I thought about incorporating Luna or something to do with moon in this baby's name.

Ok....suggestions PLEASE!!!!!!

What kind of names do you like? Yeah, that's the general census I get from my family too..lol

Just saying "none", isn't usually too helpful, lol.
Out of your selection though I like Norah. :-) Is there a name category that you like a lot? I've got a baby name book and it's got a category for almost anything, even has one that says "Baby names for gays and lesbians"   Maybe invest in one if you're having trouble?

I like Farin. And Wren.

Glenn is pretty masculine, but you could do Glynnis,

Lol...yeah...I was hesitant to put "none"....but since I'm not super attached to any name, I thought if I got a lot of "none" responses, then all names would go into the garbage pile!

I don't have a baby name book. I've looked through a lot and spent hours online. It just sucks when no one seems to like any of the names you pick out (especially family)

I thought maybe some people would respond with suggestions or something. Plus, everyone on here is always very blunt in their responses...lol....so I knew I'd get honest feedback!

Thanks so much for the help! Norah is actually the most accepted so far, even with family and friends. It's just strange when I can't make the connection with this baby. With my first, I knew right away and called her by name during my entire pregnancy. Now...I'm lost!

I like Lenora, with Norah as a nick name or something.
Honestly, from experience, don't tell family the name you pick til after the baby is born. Someone will always criticize what you pick, but its harder to do when there are cute baby eyes looking back.

Love Norah.

I knew a girl named Ferrin, instead of Farin.

Glenna? My aunt's name is Glenna. Her dad was Glenn.

And I thought Farin was spelled Faeren? Like Gaelic spelling.
Regardless, I'm not a big fan of any of those names with Glenn/Glenna, but alone I like Norah. I like Wren as a middle name, but not as a first (just not a big fan of one-syllable first names).

Selene is greek for "Moon"
Aurora and Estelle are both celestial names too.

Oh I wasn't trying to come across rude haha,
but yeah I'm in the same situation as you, after a while I just told everyone(besides my partner) that they aren't allowed to know any of the names because I constantly got family going "Ohh really? that name? that's a striper name, blabla" and would just ruin the names for me! I know what it's like, although this is my first, I've looked everywhere for a name that just 'jumps' out at me but nothing really so far. I think once you see baby you will have a better connection

Everyone on BG hates the name I picked for my kiddo (well, the only name on our short list of possibilities. we won't decide until around 20+ weeks...I just can't find anything I like, really).

I picked Ainsley Charlotte. Everyone in real life likes it, but BG thinks its something a 15 year old would name her kid---funny, my 30something friends like it.

I'm keeping it on the list, haha. We may find something we like better, but I don't think its as awful as BG makes it out to be---I was shocked how many people truly HATE it!
