My computer is dead. Someone with Photoshop should edit that pic so that it says something like "Would you kill this baby just because you're not ready to parent? Then why prevent his birth with a condom?"™

A friend of mine liked a photo on there of a baby born in the caul (amniotic sac) so I was browsing through their photos.

I also saw this photo, which is also wrong on so many levels. What about all of the woman who have ectopic pregnancies? Those are definitely life threatening and deadly to the mother yet they are trying to allow them not to have abortions? This is a facebook page from Ireland, so I commented and linked them to the story of a woman in Ireland who died although she was miscarrying, because they wouldn't allow an abortion as long as the baby had a heartbeat:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2232676/Savita-Halappanavar-dies-Irish-doctors-refuse-abortion-saying-This-Catholic-country.html

And what about ectopic pregnancy? In the US, 25-50 women die from ectopic pregnancy each year out of about 100,000 reported cases. I'm sure that almost all who survived had medical intervention and aborted or attempted to abort, and had they not the death rate would most likely be 99.9%

That picture is offensive,as someone else said that is applying murder which abortion isn't. To answer the original question if i was raped and fell pregnant. I would get an abortion, because i couldn't bring myself to love that child.

I don't think this will pass this time, but how far it has gotten is very disturbing. They will never stop trying.

No biggie...

Just bothers me what hardcore pro-lifers will do and say to scare people.

Sounds to me like its more about not using certain government funds to help pay for abortions
unless the photo meant the woman would be turned away because it's not covered and would have to go to a different hospital, and could die in the meantime?

I really hate seeing pictures like those.. I am so torn on abortion now since I have a daughter... Before I had her I would've had an abortion if I needed to and now I don't think I could ever bring myself to again for whatever reason. I am not prolife though, I am definitely prochoice, pictures like that just make me sad 😕

I am most ardently pro-choice but, as a result of rape myself what some of you are saying about keeping children conceived that way is almost offensive as the topic of the OP. Just how it's been said that they're selfish in not considering what other people have been through when they make their statements, that street goes both ways.

I was the same way when I first got pregnant. I viewed it as this abstract thing, something simple. Then when I went to make my appointment I learned what all it entailed and that added loads of perspective to my decision.
I decided to carry the pregnancy but, knowing what the whole process is, my heart really goes out to the girls that make that decision. I can't imagine how scared they must have been and how much emotional turmoil they have to deal with afterward, even if it was what they wanted. It's not an easy choice to make, by any means.

I was only saying that women in that situation should have the choice, not be forced to keep a child that they MAY always see as a reminder of a horrible trauma.

Most definitely, that option should always be available.

But I think we all understand what kind of difficulties women in those situations face. I don't really see the need to go on about how those kids are constant reminders of something so horrible or not worthy of love.
