Smiling. Milestone Q

I know all babies are different...but LOs pedi gave me a book to read about "baby's first year" and in it it says that one of the milestones he should hit by the end of the first month is smiling while he's awake...

He hasn't. He'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.

He smiles like crazy in his sleep though...

How old was your LO when he/she smiled for the first time while awake? Is there anything I can do to help him get to this point? I play with him all the time, make funny faces, etc...

LO was a month and a half, maybe later. You're right every baby is different

I wanna say DS was about 6/7 weeks...he's 10 weeks now and smiles allllll the time

Don't remember any baby I've ever been around smiling so early unless they had gas witch was usually asleep. I wouldn't worry every place I look I am getting different ages for stuff. Every child is different.

My son socially smiled at 8 weeks. Before that it was smiling in his sleep.
Same thing happened with giggling. He did it in his sleep first.

my girl full on smiles has since she was 4weeks she's now 7 weeks

My little girl was smiling from 4 weeks but not very often, since 6 weeks she smiles all the time, she is 9 weeks tomorrow  

A2 days old but a full on smile ear to ear at 2 weeks
