My son was dont with bottle by 9 months my doctor told me to ween (at 6 months) because it would prevent fights or trying to get him off the bottle, My mom thought i was nuts but it worked and i never heard him cry about it. When i had my daughter he never even thought about drinking from her bottle....


I used soft spouts at first. He is 3 now and i just use them because they are spill proof.

Introduced sippy around 8 months and got rid of bottles completely at 11 months.

DD started the sippy at like 6 months. She was completely off the bottle at 11 months.

I introduced my son a sippy at 6months, he only had water from his sippy's. He has milk in a bottle till a wk before he wwas 1yrs old.
He was off a sippy at 2

Some kids advance more than others....Both of my children dropped the bink before they were 8 months and were definitely off the bottle at 6-7 months. My daughter was a big confusion since she was so small she still is but see which one they'd rather have give the sippy a few times a day and see if they prefer that or a bottle. Both of my children were advanced so I had no worry in doing any of this.
