What should I look for if it spreads? Right now the whole thing, redness surrounding the purple included, its about the size of my thumb nail. Maybe a little bigger but not much

I did say "sometimes" just as you put most but not all. However hers is quite large, discolored and is leaking puss which are signs of an infection which means she should have it looked at.

It's not leaking puss anymore. Just blood, but its kind of watery blood

Severe pain, hot to the touch, line streaking from it. I have had many cysts, unfortunately, and they have all drained on their own. They started out like yours; purple, big and painful.

Apply heat to get the rest out. Blood is a good sign, means the pus is pretty much gone.

And never "pop" or "squeeze" as that can lead to the infection spreading. It needs to burst on it's own.

Whoops /: I squeezed... It had ruptered on its own and then I squeezed to make sure everything was out... I will leave it alone now... Hopefully I haven't made it worse /:

It's OK. I've done it too LOL. Spreading is very rare, so don't worry about it. If it gets worse, call your Doctor but you should notice it going away within a week.

It may fill up again, so just apply heat to it so it can drain again.

Cysts SUCK. I have them in the worst places sometimes lol.

Not at all. I get them on my boobs, my inner thighs, bikini line. They suck.
