Walking Pneumonia
posted 27th Nov
I've posted a few times about LOs cough for the past 4 weeks after a cold. It isn't an all day thing, mainly at night and morning. She has no fever and acts perfectly fine. Actually, you'd never know she is sick.
Well, I had enough and decided to get her checked out. Her pedi said she has bronchitis and the beginning stages of Walking Pneumonia. He prescribed her Amoxicillin 3x a day for 10 days. He said it would probably go away on it's own but it would take weeks so he wants her to get better faster.
I am very concerned simply because you would never know she's sick. The fact that she has Pneumonia is crazy to me.
Has anyone had any experience with this and did Amoxicillin work? I read it isn't that effective against the bacteria as other antibiotics.

Dr said the same about my lo back in september and gave her meds....turns out it was just a cold, cause you cant tell if its pneumonia unless there is a chest xray done, so they did one and nothing. And as soon as I stopped the puffers her cough went away cause she didnt need them or the meds.
Get an xray done.
