How long does it usually take? *Arrest ?*

I know it definitely varies from case to case, but I logged into my child support case online and found this:
"A hearing for failure to comply with a court order was held on 11/19/2012. An order for arrest of the non-custodial parent was issued."
I talked to the lawyer after the court hearing and he said they were either charging him with contempt of court or failure to appear, I forget which one he said. DH said they won't actively be looking for him, but if they happen upon him during a traffic check or whatever, they'll arrest him.
How long does it usually take for them to be arrested? I made sure the lawyer had his current address before I left.

It's called a bench warrant in Kansas. Like your DH said, they won't go out and look for him, but any encounter with an officer will get him arrested.

It wasn't the same but something like that happened to DH and he was arrested the next day after the warrant was put out. They came to the house at like 8am and picked him up.

It could be a few days or it could be years. A friend of mine started dating a guy who had a warrant out contempt of court and jumping bail for 2 years I think before she finally turned him in lol.
They may try and find him at the address but if they don't then it is just a by chance kind of thing.

I'm not sure if the local PD has his address or not, the lawyer may very well have lost it, he was carrying a ton of papers.
Would they go after him if someone called and gave them the address or is it one of those just 'whatever, low priority' things?

I'm just not sure if the cops have it, but I also don't want to bother them. But I also do want to see him being held accountable. I hope it doesn't take long =\

  So it all depends on how good he's able to stay under the radar.

Where I live, they'll go right out and start looking for them. Going to their house, if they aren't home/hiding they'll wait a bit & keep trying. They usually lock them up pretty quickly.

Call in a tip, tell them you know someone with a warrant and give them the address. I've done it before and the person was arrested.

Once the warrant is out you can call and give them a tip about where he is. They should go and pick him up.

It's a good thing you called because around here, they won't come looking for you. I had a speeding ticket when I was 18 that I totally forgot about. I got pulled over the other day and they officer just said "hey, you know you have a warrent for a traffic violation from 8 years ago? Yeah, you might want to go get that taken care of". He said there was too much paperwork involved.
