How would you deal with this?

I go through the same thing but with MIL. I stay out of it. It's hard not to say anything but the potential of making it worse is what stops me

Thankfully MIL isn't very interested in DH. She's really weird too. She's actually jealous of DH.

That seems extremely unhealthy and would honestly creep me out a bit. I don't know what you can really do, but I'd be talking to DH about how he needs to set some boundaries.

MIL used to be a bit like that. She's call at like 2 AM and tell DH that he wasn't allowed to go to work the next day because it was snowing. And when I would tell her (were I the one to answer the phone) that it wasn't snowing where we live, she'd argue with me. And when he was out at a Magic tournament, which can run until like 3 AM sometimes, or out late at one of his cousin's, she'd call every 15-20 minutes asking if he was home yet. Things like that.
I finally couldn't take it anymore and made DH talk to her so that smurf would stop. It was a slow process, but she's gotten so, so much better and I actually really enjoy her company now.

DH - Dear husband
DD- Dear daughter (and DS is dear son)
LO - Little one
SO - Significant other

FIL is pretty much like that. Some crazy stuff happened lately that involved DH and I telling the cops on somebody, and FIL tried to tell him he had to quit his job.   I was just like woow...
