I had vaginal twice & good supply - but delayed with #1 on getting my milk in - I think I was nearly a week. i was 5days in hospital & a couple days home BEFORE I got it. :/ And that birth was totally natural (no meds) - although I did have a natural rectal-section courtesy of his huge cranium. :S LOL I don't know if pain can cause it to come late (I had plenty of that & lots of recovery)...but he nursed often & well & seemed to hang in there okay on the colostrum until the milk started to come in. With #2 I think my milk was in on day 2, 3 at the latest 7 I had loads of supply. I had been nursing all through pregnancy though, so that may have some impact, I can't say.

Quoting Ryloonjimama:" Poll is pretty straight forward. I chose to word it this way, rather than *breastfed or didn't breastfeed* ... [snip!] ... do to build your supply up? Also, the D&D part of this, do you think that the birthing style plays a role in this issue?"

my first was a vaginal.. Little to no milk supply. He never latched either. I pumped for a couple months.. never got much. like.. half oz..

my other 3.. sections... great milk supply.

DD- vaginal, decent supply. We had trouble breastfeeding, though, so my supply dropped quickly and we went to formula around 3 months. Never could pump more than 2 oz total.
DSs- C-section at 32 weeks, huuuge supply. It didn't hurt that I started using a hospital grade pump as soon as I was back in my room, and continued every ~3 hours nearly around the clock since then. My supply has dropped due to not pumping like I should, but I can get it back with Fenugreek, like I did a month ago.
