Un circumcision question

My son turned one about 3 weeks ago. I had his 1 yr well baby appt yesterday. His pedi said to pull his forskin back and put vasiline on it. This seems like complete opposite of what I have alway read. Also, there is nothing wrong not had there ever been anything wrong with it. It is normal to start doing this at 1? Or is his pedi a moron...

can't you take him to your family doctor? I've never gone to a paediatrician.

The fire skin retracts on its at around 6-11yrs of age, no need to manually retract it, it could actually damage it.

We have tri care and have to go on base. I think I'll try to get him refered else where.

we have tricare and have to go on base to. if there is another pediatrician in the office, you can go to the tricare office and have them switch it. your son can be seen by your pcm too. just have tricare switch it. tricare had no problem switching us from one pedi to the other when we had a complaint.

How come you let the pediatrician touch his penis? I YELLED at three different pediatricians and walked out in the middle of appointments before finding ONE that won't touch his penis and respects our wishes for keeping him intact and is up-to-date on intact care. I'd be suing the doctor for touching your son and not doing proper research. Further more, as his mother, I'd be researching things a little better if you're not sure before letting someone uneducated touch your sons penis.
