I'm no help as I have no experience with this.

I just wanted to say best of wishes to you and your baby boy. Here's to a speedy recovery for the little guy.

My son had this done last year. The actual procedure was quick and recovery was fine. It's typically an outpatient surgery. Even with all the bumps we hit ( specific to my son not the surgery) it still was not terrible.

i have 3 daughters that had theirs removed 2 were around 2 the other was 11 in my opinion the younger the better the little ones had alot less pain and were ready to run and play within the next day or so one wanted to go play on the swingset when we got home from the hospital lol the other had some ear pain and the doc said that was rare for younger patients he saw it often in adults and teens but very rarely in little ones you guys will do great you are gonna be way more nervous than your little one just try to relax it will be over before you know it and the more relaxed you are the more relaxed your little one will be

I'm not trying to scare you but I want you to know that some kids wake up extremely violent and angry. My son was 2 when he had to have his nose cauterized and when he woke up, he was screaming, crying, banging is head off the floor, biting, hitting, and kicking. It was so hard to deal with. He didn't want me to hold him but I had to so he wouldn't hurt himself. I ended up having to wrap him in a blanket and hold him down because it got so bad.

Don't freak out too much. They normally have you come after they wake up unless you request it ( atleast the hospitals here) that way they warn you. When tey first wake up they usually do some crying.
