I don't think it is one. But even if you want to go "okay, the BIBLE says it's a sin" and you choose to interpreted it in that way, fine. It's a sin. Sin doesn't send you to hell anymore then being a "good person" buys your way into Heaven.

It is different, you're just following a religion that has very old "guidelines" instead of living in 2012.

I don't want my daughter to be gay. I think it will be at least another generation before there's more support than opposition, and I don't want her to have to go through the heartbreak my sister has gone through, or fear for her safety for being herself.

However if she is I'll love and support her.

I saw an interesting documentary that claimed the word abomination was actually a mistranslation in the King James Bible and that the actual word was supposed to mean "outside the cultural norm."

my younger brother both played with my doll hoses when they were little.... they even got their own for Christmas one year haha my dad throw a fit of course.. but hey now their 13 & 15 and deffentrly not gay!

Also SO and his BM were called into a conference once about their son. His kindergarten teacher was concerned because he only played with the boys and would sit on other boys laps or have them sit in his lap during circle time.. & she would always have to separate them. I told SO he needed to consider switching his class because any teacher who would be concerned about a 5 year old boy because of those behaviors is obvisoulsy insane.

no need for caps.....if murders, thieves, liars and the such can accept Christs free ''gift'' of salvation than so can homosexual people. No where in the bible does it say that Christ died for all of humanity accept for the gays....
I would let my child know that i dont condone the ''behavior'' but ultimately their life choices are between them and God. My job as a mother is to teach my child love and honesty.

I have a gay friend who's parents do not accept her because she won't give them biological grandchildren. She's argued with them and said things like "I can still have kids, there's adoption or I could find a sperm donor" but I guess to them it's not the same. I could understand being disappointed for a second but then i'd probably come back to reality and remember that it wouldnt define who my child is or anything, and it sure as hell wouldnt change the way i feel about them.

Same here... it makes me sad being a Christian how easily others use the term "Christianity" to judge others :/

Since it was "translated" into the Bible in like.. the 80's or 90's? I know some versions of the Bible don't say "homosexual" but say "bestiality" and other wordings that have nothing to do with homosexuality..

It's kind of interesting how we've gone from interracial marriage being a sin in the Bible and people up in arms about it, to homosexuals now.
Not only that.. but there were gay people in the Bible whom God loved. -shrug-

I would totally be cool with it. I'd be a smurfing hypocrite if I wasn't. I myself have been curious and told my husband if anything ever happened to our marriage I would probably pursue a relationship with a woman before dating men again. I also don't believe in gender stereotypes, especially with children and what they play with. BIL asked DH what DD wanted for Christmas. I said that DD is really into trucks and airplanes right now. DH's family acted like it was a huge deal on Thanksgiving. She's 2. Seriously. Who cares what toys kids are playing with? At least they are playing, having fun, and using their imaginations.

Doesn't the bible also say that you can't wear clothing made of more than one material? And essentially that women are lesser beings basically used for birthing children?

If it's all about reproducing, then why should sterile couples be allowed to get married? Divorce is nearly always condemned, yet people are not abominations or going to hell if they remarry. Most of the things in the old testament are not followed anymore, and the places that it does mention gay marriage in the new testament are HIGHLY open for different meanings. Also, out of EVERYTHING Jesus had to say, isn't it sort of interesting that he didn't really have anything to say about gays.
