i guess your friend at work hasnt gotten to the part in the Bible where Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and cancelled out the Old Testiment ''requirements'' which also allowed us ''gentiles'' entrance into heaven

I would be accepting and caring and have no issues as long as they practiced safe sex (but this also would apply to my heterosexual child(ren) as well) . I'm bisexual myself so I probably am a lot more accepting but regardless. My husband and I both agree that if one of our children is gay, bisexual, lesbian, transgender/sexual or any other non-binary gender once they they find that out about themselves it will not be any different for us. I don't see how any parent could not support their child and respect them as that's still their child and they should love and respect them regardless of any of those things.

I think the problem occurs because some people love their god more than their children. When I was in the SDA church, they preached that, actually- they taught that god should come first, then husband/wife, then children.

And to answer the OP, I get a strong feeling that at least one of my children with have an unconventional sexuality. I'd like to think that I'd pick up on it before they told me, though.

I know it's a sticky subject but to be honest, I don't know why anyone would put anyone , even a good, before their children at the very least or their family and significant other if they don't have kids (or not yet) . It just boggles my mind. Then again I was never religious in my life (despite MOST of my family being catholic other than my christian uncle (who is bisexual and married to a man) ) . I was just never raised that way so I might not understand it because of that but even then I just don't understand it.

I had a rough set of teen years, I was told to pick up a religion, but I found a lot more comfort in my family and got out of my bad time so I place an extremely high value in my family. I don't think I'd be where I'm at without them.

My boys are into lots of "girly" stuff... I believe it has got nothing to do with sexuality and everything to do with mummy & Grandma being the main influences in their lives. These things are not going to determine whether they are heterosexual or homosexual.

I would not think any differently of them if we did come to find out one day that they were gay. Anyone who wanted to treat them differently over that would have me to deal with.

Ew, that's sick. I didn't even know what abortion was until I was like 14. And my parenting teacher in high school pushed her pro life views on the class and her anti-sexuality smurf. It pisses me off now that I look back on it.
