Quoting Ivana*mommy of two*:" My son gets speech therapy every week, he was evaluated to be at 10-12month level when he got an eval ... [snip!] ... and my son has gone from about 4 spoken words and 0 signs, to now knowing 20 signs and 15spoken words! It really is helpful."
This is exactly what the speech therapist did for my daughter when she was two. The services were provided on the post. Once the kids turn 3, they send them to the on post elementary school for special education preschool. She just turned 4 and her speech has really taken off. I am flabbergasted by the sentences she puts together and the way she speaks when having a conversation. Speech therapy is a big help but I think being in the special education preschool is what really got things moving.
