Quoting tinana +2:" Well why post about it then? If you told them you don't want your child called that, and they continue ... [snip!] ... they don't care. If you don't want them to call him that, maybe change the name to honor your grandfather in a different way?"I posted about it asking if anyone else had this happen, not for people to criticize his name and ask if i've told them. I've obviously told them about the issue. Changing his name isn't an option.. I SPECIFICALLY asked if any other mothers have had this happen.
Quoting mommy-in-a-blended-family:" Just curious - but why don't you like them saying Baby Hawk? IMO it's kinda cute... if it's to honor ... [snip!] ... them when they don't. This is a prime example as to why DH and I are not telling names for the next child we have "I honestly think I get so aggrivated over it, because I love the sound of baby Mason wayy better than Baby Hawk, and the next baby we definately wont spill the names before it arrives!
Quoting Fairy [God] Mother ®:" <blockquote><b>Quoting tinana +2:</b>" Well why post about it then? If you told them ... [snip!] ... Because its a public forum as she is allowed to be upset? Can you pull your panties out of your crack and stop being rude?"
Quoting Destiny Marie Hicks:" I love that name. My brother is named Mason and I adore the name. I also love how you used your grandfathers ... [snip!] ... it, keep telling them. If they don't like it, tell them to suck it up, it's your child and he has a name. Good Luck deary!"Thank you!
Quoting lolajessup:" I would just correct Them and say "oh mason?" Our family and friends all call lylian "lily". We have ... [snip!] ... your baby can't stand up for himself. But I think hawk is a fun nickname. It'd be a pretty sweet sports nickname in h.s. too "
Quoting Lizplustwo:" http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Hawk I think it's adorable and a great way to honor your grandfather, ... [snip!] ... get a lot of unwanted nicknames for my son as well, since his name is James and that's what I would prefer him to be called..."Thank you! I may not look 25% cherokee but it's definately really important to us!
Quoting ♥ Mason's Mommy:" My grandfather , Red Hawk was 100 % cherokee, he passed away a week before I got pregnant. So he's named after him."
Quoting ♥ Mason's Mommy:" ? It's a family cherokee name?"
