pelvic congestion syndrome

posted 27th Nov
Does anyone have it? I had a ct scan friday because I've been having a lot of medical problems and pain. the vein on my left is 11mm and the right is 14mm. Normal is below 5mm. I was just wondering if this was dangerous to even try for another. I haven't had a chance to seemy doctor but looks like my options are a hysterectomy or vein embolization and I really dont want metal inside of me...I already have titanium clips from when they took my gallbladder in april and those bother me(probably in my head).

I have it.

My doctor's have tried to suppress me with birth control pills, or supplemental progesterone in the later half of my cycle. I'm not one for taking a ton of medication, nor am I all that fond of having surgery, so I am getting ready to see a physical therapist...I just got a referral yesterday. My doctor refers to her as "The Pelvic Queen", and after talking with her briefly yesterday, they have some ideas.

I already know that I have some pelvic floor muscle abnormalities, so it probably contributes. I essentially walk around in a "permanent kegel", because I can't get the muscles to relax. I did some biofeedback work for that. The other thing that has been helpful is to see a chiropractor. She has done a technique called "unwinding" that seems really hokey, but has lessened the symptoms as well. Look up information on PPOD - this is the type of approach my chiro has used.

I hope you're able to find answers. Don't hesitate to get additional opinions.

I would make an appointment to see an OB/GYN or go see someone in internal medicine.

It has been my experience that doctors LOVE surgery and medication, even though it may not always be needed and there are natural ways of helping, even if it's not an immediate solution. I would consider having the vein fixed over an hysterectomy due to the hormone issues, but that's me. You could always go back and have a hysterectomy done later if it doesn't work.
