sharp pain in nipple

A few days after I started breastfeeding my left nipple had a clogged duct & a circle of clear taste bud looking things on the tip of it. They were a tad bit sore & I ended up scratching it to death so now it looks normal but its really sore to the touch & I get sharp pains through the tip of my nipple while feeding & after I feed my son. Has anyone had this happen before? Or know what this is? How to treat it?

Might be the beginnings of mastitis. Have you tried nipple shields? They're great for protecting nips

I'm not engorged or anything & the clogged duct is gone as well but I can hand express the milk & I won't get the sharp pains. My nipples peeling a little & only the suction hurts. I have lanolin(medela tender care) & palmers nursing butter(haven't tried it yet) the lanolin hasn't helped. Its only the tip of my nipple so its weird
